Life in another planets. That's a big subject. Is there or is there not life in other worlds? If so, are they intelligent? Why haven't they contacted us if they are?

Personally, I believe in life in other worlds. Why shouldn't there be? Are we naive enough to believe that we are the only ones in this vast universe, which some think is still growing to this day? I'm not. Even if God created us, why would he create only us? Why put so much space for only this one species? I think that sounds stupid.

I think there's proof that there was life in Mars some million years ago. I think it was more like a billion or somewhere close to that. So, the fact that life can be found in other planets is even more plausible. If there could've been life in a planet soo close to us, more than likely they is in planets farther away.

The question is Are they intelligent? If so, how intelligent? Imagine what we have accomplished as one species in such a short time. At least relatively speaking. This computer is a magnificent example. Another species in the universe who could had a ten thousand year start before us would have created and discovered very impressive technology. What if it had been a million year start before us? Even greater and even more extremely advance technology would be at their disposal. We couldn't even possibly imagine what they could be travelling on.

What I'm afraid of is whether they are friendly or not. A hostile allien army with such technology would be quite a destructive force. They could just press a buttom and our world would go "BOOM!" Scary thought there.

However, I think they are more likely to be friendly. They are likely to have gone through what we have to so far: prejudice, war, and death. An advance race is more likely to be friendly to us, even though we might not be so. Or a Hitler type of creature coudl've taken over and we would be doomed. To be ruled by an alien. I just hope they don't treat us like backwards animals like we do to certain other species in our planet.

Let's talk politics. What do you believe? Pro-business or Pro-environment? Education important? Should the government be strong or weak? This questions could go on and on without an end. But where do we draw the line from good politics to idiotic actions and stupid people controling our lives and well beings? How do we keep this from happening? And how do we know it's time to stop it?

It may seem like it should be easy to detect when this happens. It may even seem like it should be obvious. But it won't always be. How do we know that what the wackos how believe in conspiracies are not saying the truth? How do we know what the government does is always in the best interests of the citizens? We don't. That's a fact.

Perhaps one solution lies in the barely known candidates for political positions. These people may believe all you believe personally, and they may be willing to fight for it. But why are they so unknown? Why don't we hear from them in the presidential debates? I'm going to look into this for us.

Education is another answer. Educated people are more than likely to keep the government in check instead of idiots who think a simple tv is the greatest wonder on the world. (  I know a couple. I pity them to the fullest). Maybe our tax money should concentrate on that. Education is also the solution to poverty and war. A greater combo can't be found anywhere else if you ask me.

Now, where is it going to take us? Who knows. Perhaps the utopia that we all hope for. I doubt it. Most humans can't see what's best for them even if it's lay out in front of their eyes. Sad, but true.

I'll check up with y'all later. And yes, I now I ask too many questions.

Beginning To Write

Hello everyone. My name is Armando Ramos. I am from El Salvador, which is a country located in Central America. I came to the U.S. in 2000 A.D., and have lived here since then, except for a couple of months in which I was in El Salvador. I began this Xanga site to write about all those things which are very touchy and controversial. I will state my opinion and expect some comments from those of you who care. They are basically editorials, which should and may include a cartoon. They will not be very good, but they might be there.

Also, I will post here all those editorials written by anyone who cares to write one and send it by email to me. If I like it, I will post it here. If it sucks, I'll email some suggestions. I can't promise anything else. I will probably post it, with your name or anonimous if you so desire, if it is convincing enough or has strong supporting evidence. If it doesn't, don't expect me to post it.. and give me time. I might post something before yours.

Please read all of the post before you post a comment. You might find that I'm talking about different sides of an issue, and you read just enough to think I'm taking a side.

Also remember that you are welcome to critize me to the fullest. You can say what a crappy writer I am, that I'm a bitch (please don't call me a son of a bitch... that insults my mom, not me, so I will really take offense to tha), or that I'm an idiot. I don't care. Be creative  with your insults, too. I've heard "you are a poopy head" once too many times.

Armando.
